Common questions
The launch time changed. Is the app wrong?
Launch times move often, sometimes several times on launch day. Launch Day checks the schedule every two minutes when a launch is close and every ten minutes otherwise, and tells you when it changes if you've turned alerts on for that launch. A date marked NET is the earliest a launch could happen, not a promise.
I didn't get an alert.
Alerts need "Notify me" on for that launch (or "Follow every Florida launch" in Settings), notifications allowed for Launch Day in your phone's settings, and the kinds you want switched on in Settings. If all three are set, email me with the launch and the time and I'll look at what the server sent.
Why does it ask for my location?
Only to sort viewing spots by distance from you and to point the compass at the pad. Your location stays on your phone; it is never sent anywhere. The app works without it: spots are listed A to Z instead.
Why am I seeing ads?
Launch Day is free and shows a small banner on list screens, never over the countdown. See theprivacy policyfor what that involves.
Where does the data come from?
Launch schedules from The Space Devs' Launch Library 2; weather from the National Weather Service. Viewing-spot details come from the parks' and cities' own pages, each linked from the spot.
